A Summer Family Session
Capturing the Perfect Moments| The Barrett Family
As a Boise photographer, I recently had the pleasure of capturing a joyful summer family session at Katherine Albertsons Park in Boise, Idaho. I was so excited when Kenny and Chelsea contacted me about family portraits at Katherine Albertsons Park. Chelsea mentioned the last time they had an opportunity to freeze time Nash, was two! They were long overdue for some updated family portraits.
Chelsea, is a beautiful wife, mother, and friend and has a huge heart for women’s ministry. Not only does Chelsea have a huge heart for women's ministry, but she serves faithfully on our leadership board at True Hope Church. Chelsea is probably one of the most genuine, down to earth people that I know. As an introvert, I am drawn to her radiant personality.
Kenny is a husband, father, and friend and has a huge heart for the Lord. Kenny has a heart for men’s ministry. My son loves it when Kenny plans the men’s breakfast at our church.
Kenny is a very talented videographer. Kenny has traveled to Africa and creates amazing content videos for our church. I am always a little nervous when another creative individual reaches out and wants me to capture portraits for them.
Chelsea loves wildflowers and I knew that Katherine Albertsons Park would be the perfect location. The park's natural beauty and diverse surroundings provided an ideal setting for creating timeless, joyful family portraits. The lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and serene ponds at Katherine Albertsons Park offered a variety of picturesque backdrops for our family photo session. As we began, I was immediately drawn to the park's natural beauty, and I knew that I had stumbled upon the perfect location for capturing these joyful family memories. The park's architectural features further enhanced the visual appeal of our photos. The rustic bridges and charming gazebos served as stunning elements within the composition, adding a touch of elegance to the overall aesthetic. The colorful blooms and enchanting fragrances provided an exquisite setting for intimate family portraits. The park's natural light created a soft atmosphere. One of the most rewarding aspects of the session was capturing genuine moments of joy and connection between family members. From playful interactions to heartfelt embraces, the park served as the perfect backdrop for the authentic and candid moments that define a family's love and bond. Reflecting on the day, I was reminded of the privilege and joy that comes with documenting the love and connections within a family.
Some wedding days are beautiful because of the scenery. Others are beautiful because of the people. Carson and Zaidah’s destination wedding at the Kendall Mountain Lodge in Silvertson, Colorado, was the perfect combination of both.
Nestled high in the San Juan Mountains, their wedding took place at a breathtaking ski resort venue overlooking some of the most stunning mountain views Colorado has to offer. As a destination wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of photographing weddings in many beautiful locations, but there was something truly special about this day. Perhaps it was the towering peaks surrounding us, the peaceful atmosphere of Silverton, or the fact that I wasn’t just their photographer-I am also Carson’s aunt.
Watching Carson grow from a little boy into the incredible man he is today has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Being trusted to capture one of the most important days of his life was an honor I will never forget.
