An Autumn Boise Train Depot Family Session
Steinmetz Family
Capturing Memories with the Steinmetz Family at Boise Train Depot.
As a photographer, one of the greatest joys comes from watching families grow and evolve through the years. My journey with the Steinmetz family has been nothing short of delightful. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless moments with them, but witnessing Carter and Elexis grow up has truly been a heartwarming experience. This particular session at the Historic Boise Train Depot was exceptional—not only because of the picturesque backdrop but also because it marked another chapter for the Steinmetz family. The autumn colors painted the landscape with hues of orange, yellow, and deep red, creating the perfect setting for family portraits. The crisp, cool air of fall complimented the excitement buzzing around us as we laughed and played during the shoot. Mandy, the incredible mother of the family, is approaching a significant transition in her life. With both Carter and Elexis growing up so fast, the bittersweet moment of becoming an empty nester is just around the corner. It’s a reality that hits home for many parents, and I can only imagine the mix of emotions she must be feeling. I’ve seen her nurture her children, and now, it’s time for them to spread their wings. I’m honored to capture these moments that serve as a time capsule for her—one that she can reflect upon as her kids embark on new adventures. During our session, the joy was infectious. Carter showcased his playful spirit, and Elexis’s infectious smile lit up the camera. It felt more like a fun-filled day in the park rather than a photoshoot! As I clicked away, I couldn’t help but think how this day encapsulated the beauty of family life in Boise during autumn. Thank you, Steinmetz family, for allowing me to document your journey. Here’s to many more memories to capture as you transition into this exciting new phase of life. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you all!
As a Boise senior photographer, one of the things I love most about my job is getting to meet incredible young people like Abby. Her senior session at the Old Idaho Penitentiary was nothing short of magical, filled with laughter, sunshine, and the kind of joy that radiates from someone with a heart as kind as hers.
From the moment Abby arrived, her smile lit up the entire space. The Old Penitentiary, with its mix of rustic stone walls and golden fall light, provided the perfect backdrop for her vibrant personality. Abby has a natural way of making everyone around her feel comfortable — and that genuine, warm energy showed through in every single photo. Her laughter was contagious, and by the end of the session, I couldn’t help but smile behind the camera the entire time.
